CHaSM transitioning to EMR

Carolina Hand and Sports Medicine has begun the transition from paper medical records to electronic medical records.  In order to facilitate this, ALL patients will need to complete a new patient history form at the next appointment.  Please follow the secure link below to create an account and complete the form online.   This will take approximately 15-20 minutes and will be imported into your record before your visit.  If you would rather complete a paper form, we ask that you arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment time in order to allow for enough time to complete the form.

Thank you for your patience during this transition.  We appreciate your choosing Carolina Hand and Sports Medicine for your orthopaedic needs.

First Outpatient Shoulder Replacement

Carolina Hand and Sports Medicine surgeon Jesse L. West IV, MD successfully completed the first outpatient shoulder replacement at the Asheville Surgery Center in January of this year. Dr. West has since performed numerous successful outpatient shoulder replacements including hemi-arthroplasty, total shoulder arthroplasty, and humeral resurfacing. All of these patients went home comfortable the day of surgery. This advancement in shoulder replacement was made possible by a combination of minimally invasive surgical techniques and successful regional blocks by physcians from Asheville Anesthesia Associates. Call (828)253-7521 for more information or to schedule a consultation at Carolina Hand and Sports Medicine’s new state-of-the-art building next to the Asheville Surgery Center.
